British supermarket Sainsbury’s to open branch in Lusail next year

If you’re British, there are probably lots of things you miss about the UK. Pie and mash, roast dinners, and fish and chips are probably all at the top of your list.

But there are lots of little things you probably don’t even realise you miss until you’re back home – like the humble supermarket.

We don’t realise it until we’re stood in front of a wall of £1 bags of maltesers, chocolate buttons and gummy bears, but we really do miss it.

But luckily for us, that will soon be a thing of the past, as British supermarket Sainsbury’s is set to open a branch in Lusail next year.

Located in downtown Lusail, it will be the first official branch of the store in Qatar. It is set to open by March 2022.

The Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company and Aryan Holding signed an agreement to set up the branch yesterday (Tuesday January 19).

The news comes after Al Meera Hypermarket opened a shop-in-shop outlet selling Sainsbury’s goods at the Hyatt Plaza Mall store early last year.

You can grab products from the premium Taste the Difference range, Be Good To Yourself, Deliciously FreeFrom, SO Organic, Little Ones and OraCare, at the store.

Sainsbury’s products are also available at other Al Meera stores including at Onaiza 2, Gulf Mall and Al Qutaifeya.
