The IBD Summit is a first-of-its-kind event that brings together investors, innovators, and influencers from over 100 cities, including North America, South America, the Middle East, Africa, East Asia, China, and the Indian Subcontinent.
The summit aims to provide the world’s preeminent platform for ambitious entrepreneurs to ideate, launch, and scale ventures internationally by connecting with prospective partners, investors, and influencers.
It was carefully designed to create lifelong relationships that have a long-lasting impact that extends way beyond business and to strengthen and support communities.
After the overwhelming response of the summit’s last edition held in April 2019, which had over 200 delegates in attendance from over 20 cities, the organisers announced that the event is aiming to attract more than 1,000 delegates.
A new version of the state-of-the-art web portal with details of the summit was unveiled to coincide with the occasion. Hundreds of millions of dollars in investments are in the pipeline and under discussion following the 2019 edition.
This is expected to climb up significantly by the next edition, organisers said.
IBD Summit chairman Yousuf al-Jaber said, “It’s indeed an honour for Doha to be the host city for the ‘IBD 2020 Summit’. We are expecting a record number of investment and joint venture deals this time around.
“With Qatar all set to be the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, there has never been a better time to explore opportunities locally. More importantly, Doha is increasingly positioning to be a gateway to international business opportunities, especially focused towards Asia and Africa.”
