Jason Statham has been spotted in Qatar, shooting scenes for an upcoming Guy Ritchie thriller.

The as-yet-untitled movie – previously called Five Eyes – is currently filming in the capital city, Doha, with Statham and Aubrey Plaza leading the cast.

Statham plays MI6 hardman Orson Fortune, who teams up with Plaza’s CIA tech expert as they work to track down a deadly weapon.

As well as those two, the cast includes The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes and Manchester-born rapper Bugzy Malone, who made his movie debut in Ritchie’s The Gentlemen.

The cast and crew of the new film were seen working around a number of Doha’s most memorable landmarks, including the Museum of Islamic Art.

Plaza, who is best known for her work in comedy, recently revealed her excitement at stepping into the world of action cinema for the first time.

She told the Wall Street Journal she was very much looking forward to getting started shooting the movie with Ritchie.

“’I hope that it will allow me to be a badass CIA agent with the ultimate badass,” said Plaza.

“There’s no one more badass than Statham, and I’m coming for Statham.

“He better watch out because I’m going to destroy him, and he’s going to like it.”

One of the biggest draws for the new movie is a long-awaited reunion between Statham and Ritchie, who have been very busy of late.

The duo worked together several times in the late 1990s and early 2000s and recently finished work on Wrath of Man — their first collaboration since Revolver in 2005.

Based on the 2004 French movie Cash Truck, the action thriller also features Mindhunter star Holt McCallany, Scott Eastwood and Calm With Horses actor Niamh Algar.

Wrath of Man is currently awaiting a release date.
