Over 9,300 abandoned vehicles have been confiscated in Qatar since January this year, local media reported.
The move comes as part of a nationwide campaign launched early this year to remove abandoned vehicles with authorities concerned reaching the Al Sheehaniya Municipality yesterday, the campaign’s final destination.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Joint Committee for Removing Abandoned Vehicles of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, has removed over 81,000 abandoned vehicles from all over the country.
About 44,000 vehicles were disposed of during this period.
