Qatar’s total infections increase to 2,512

Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced today another 136 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 2,512, Qatar News Agency reported.

The ministry also announced 21 new recoveries, pushing the total number of people recovered to 227.

Some of the new cases are related to travelers who have returned to Qatar and others to contacts, and the newly infected cases have been entered under complete health isolation, where they receive the necessary medical care.

Six people have died of the virus in Qatar so far, the ministry noted, adding that a total of 45,339 people have been tested for coronavirus in the country.

The number of new cases in Qatar peaked on April 5 and have since been going down, according to data collected by John Hopkins University.

As health authorities in the country continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
