QATARI energy minister and CEO of state oil company Qatar Petroleum, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi,
told a US-Qatar Business Council virtual briefing on Friday night that the country is still committed to an expansion of the offshore North Field, the largest gas field in the world.
Al-Kaabi noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had hit international LNG prices due to an oversupply of gas, and that while Qatar had been forced to delay awarding contracts for the development of energy suply.
