In a press statement on Thursday, QM said:
“At Qatar Museums, the health and safety of our visitors and staff is of the utmost importance. In response to the recently reported cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar, as a precautionary measure we have closed all our museums and heritage sites to visitors until further notice.”Additionally, all museum shops, cafes and restaurants and the National Museum of Qatar playground will be closed.”
The statement added:
“The following initiatives are also cancelled until further notice: MIA Bazaar and NMoQ Baraha Bazaar, school visits, workshops, lectures, tours and educational programming, and public events.
“Due to the evolving nature of the situation, we will continue to review and revise our plans and processes and follow guidance from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).”
