The government noted that the vast majority of the armed movements in Darfur and those who did not join the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur,
Sudan’s Information Minister Bushara Juma’a Aror told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur accommodates all and remains open for accession because it enjoys international consensus,
pointing out that several agreements and development projects have been implemented within the framework of the document in order to achieve peace in Darfur.
The information minister pointed out that the de facto policy of development and the Qatari support, assistance and follow-up is the basis of all the success that have been achieved.
He stressed that the document is comprehensive and inclusive, in that it met the wishes of the people of Darfur, and the international community for a lasting peace in the region.
He pointed out that the steps taken in the regional and international platforms with the armed movements are based on the Doha Document.
He added that all the negotiation mechanisms and peace agreements signed with the opponents saw the Doha Document as the basic reference to peace because it includes international conventions and commitments, that cannot be changed by persons or entities.
The Sudanese information minister praised the efforts made by Qatar in the interest of peace and stability in Sudan,
especially its efforts to achieve stability in Darfur and the transformation from war to development through projects and infrastructure.
He stressed that the peace process in Darfur is still encouraging to achieve more security and stability and the transition to comprehensive peace and absorption of everybody to work consistently in the construction and reconstruction, that serve the national stability of Sudan.
