Tasty Street‘, a new initiative in which food is delivered to cars from a wide range of eateries and cafes, has opened in the northern part of Katara – the Cultural Village

Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti inaugurated yesterday afternoon the event which will continue until March 31 next year.

‘Tasty Street’ is being held along the courtyard opposite Al Jazeera Media Café with the participation of Qatari youth projects.

Spread over an area of 6,300sqm, it can accommodate hundreds of cars and has been “organised in an orderly manner to ensure comfort for visitors while taking into account the importance of following the precautionary measures put in place to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19”, Katara said in a statement.

Orders will be delivered to cars while maintaining the highest safety standards to ensure the safety of everyone concerned, it stressed. There are some 37 food outlets at ‘Tasty Street’, which will be open from 3pm to 2am, according to Katara.

In this context, Dr al-Sulaiti said:

“We have launched the ‘Tasty Street’ event as we were keen to revitalise the tourism and entertainment sector in line with the precautionary measures to prevent Covid-19. It features some 37 outlets, including restaurants and cafes that offer the most delicious and wonderful gastronomic delights.”

‘Tasty Street’ will be an entertainment outlet for all and create a joyful atmosphere for visitors, he said, highlighting the importance of its role in supporting Qatari youth projects and “opening wider horizons to introduce the diverse and promising projects they present”. This, in turn, will “contribute significantly and directly to supporting them for the continuation, advancement and development of their projects”, he added.
So, ‘Tasty Street’ is an suitable opportunity for project owners to exchange their experiences and enhance their prospects to commercialise their projects, Dr al-Sulaiti observed.

In its statement, Katara stressed that it always provides support to Qatari entrepreneurs by expanding marketing opportunities through various events and special occasions organised or hosted by the Cultural Village.

This is in addition to the attendance of Qatari project owners in various festivals organised throughout the year, as a confirmation of its continuous encouragement for Qatari products and its backing of young Qatari entrepreneurs, it added.
