Tough test awaits Qatar against Costa Rica

Qatar take on Costa Rica in a friendly match at the Profertil Arena in Hartberg, Austria, today. It will be another tough test for Felix Sanchez’s men as they prepare for the Asian qualifiers in the short term, while keeping their main focus on the World Cup at home in 2022.





After the Costa Rica match, Qatar are scheduled to play South Korea on November 17.

The Asian Cup winners had lost to Ghana 1-5 in their previous friendly. Today, they will come across another strong opponents in Costa Rica.

The cold weather in Austria could also pose problems for the Al Annabi, as they had start time to acclimatise to the foreign conditions after having arrived in Vienna on Monday.

Post the two friendlies, Qatar is set to face Bangladesh in the Asian qualifiers on December 4.
