The Yemeni government delegation has announced the return to the ongoing peace talks, hosted by Kuwait since April 21.
A statement, carried by Yemen News Agency (Saba), praised the great efforts exerted by HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and highlighted the Qatari-Kuwaiti mediation efforts and the relentless pursuit to establish peace in Yemen.
The statement stressed that the return to the talks came after the delegation received written assurances that will form a solid ground and will adjust the move of the consultations according to firm basis.
The statement also highlighted HH the Emir’s meeting with Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, as well as the efforts and contacts made by Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in order to provide the necessary assurances in this regard.
The delegation emphasized in the statement that the return to the talks comes at the direction of the Yemeni President and as a result of the assurances received by the delegation from the United Nations and the sponsoring countries, expressing the hope that these assurances will form a solid base to push the peace consultations to achieve peace sought by the Yemeni people, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions caused by the coup against the legitimacy and the state.
The delegation also stressed that this return is the last chance to save the talks. (QNA)
